Phill Whitman

Phil Whitman was born and raised in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. After graduating from Bowdoin College in 1999 with a double major in History and Visual Arts, he went on to receive an MFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004. His work, which includes paintings, drawings, and small-scale figures and dioramas, has been shown in New York and New England. He has been awarded several residencies, including The Milay Colony, The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Phil Whitman recently relocated from Brooklyn, NY to Montpelier, Vermont.
